Our Story & Mission

Recover. Rebuild. Reclaim.

These three words are more than our slogan—they represent the journey we believe every person deserves the opportunity to take.

Trauma Recovery Psychiatry Center was founded on a simple but deeply personal belief: every individual deserves an accurate diagnosis, a treatment plan tailored to their unique needs, and a provider who truly listens.

Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of witnessing the moment everything begins to make sense—the point when someone finally understands what they've been carrying and discovers treatment that genuinely meets them where they are. The right diagnosis brings clarity. The right treatment restores hope. Together, they create the foundation for lasting healing and open doors that once felt permanently closed.

I've also cared for individuals who spent years—sometimes decades—living with the consequences of misdiagnosis, ineffective treatments, or medications that never quite addressed the root of their struggles. That kind of suffering is real, and too often it goes unseen. It inspired me to build a practice where care is never rushed, never one-size-fits-all, and always grounded in evidence-based medicine, trauma-informed care, and genuine human connection.

At Trauma Recovery Psychiatry Center, your story matters. We take the time to understand the whole person—not just your symptoms, but your experiences, your strengths, your goals, and what healing truly means to you. Every treatment plan is thoughtfully designed to help you move forward with confidence and purpose.

Whether you're navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, OCD, ADHD, or another mental health challenge, our mission is to help you recover from what has been holding you back, rebuild your emotional well-being and resilience, and reclaim the life you deserve.

Healing is possible. Hope is real. And you don't have to walk this journey alone.

About

Hi, I'm Ani — a board-certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner based in Sacramento, CA.

My path into psychiatry wasn't accidental. Starting out as a registered nurse, I worked alongside people navigating some of their hardest moments — eating disorders, substance use, and severe mental health crises. Those experiences shaped not just my clinical skills, but my understanding of what people actually need when they're struggling- to feel seen, not just assessed. That calling led me to pursue my Master's in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing, and over the years I've built a practice grounded in treating the full picture — acute and chronic mental illness across all ages, with a particular focus on trauma and its many ripple effects.

I hold a BSN from New York University and an MSN-PMHNP from Eastern Kentucky University, and I've had the privilege of sharing what I've learned as a guest lecturer at UC Davis and UCSF Schools of Nursing.

Staying current isn't just a professional obligation for me — it's personal. I invest heavily in learning and staying up to date on the most recent treatment options across all psychiatric conditions, because I've seen what's possible when people have the right tools and the right support. My goal, in every session, is to help you move forward.

When I'm not working, you'll find me on the American River Trail, buried in a good book, or — full transparency — deep into a crime documentary binge. Some habits are hard to shake!
