Our Story & Mission
Trauma Recovery Psychiatry Center was built on a simple but deeply personal belief: that every person deserves an accurate diagnosis, a treatment plan that actually fits their life, and a provider who genuinely listens.
Over the years, I've had the privilege of watching people experience that turning point — the moment things finally make sense. When someone understands what they've been carrying, and finds care that truly meets them where they are, the transformation can be profound. The right diagnosis brings clarity. The right treatment restores hope. And together, they can open doors that once felt permanently closed.
I've also sat with people who carried the weight of years — sometimes decades — of misdiagnosis, treatments that didn't work, or medications that were never quite right. That kind of suffering is real, and it's often invisible. It's what moved me to create a practice where care is never rushed, never one-size-fits-all, and always grounded in the latest evidence and trauma-informed principles.

Here, your story matters. We take the time to truly understand you — not just your symptoms, but your history, your goals, and what healing actually looks like for you. Because you deserve more than just getting through each day. You deserve to recover, rebuild, and thrive.
If you're ready to take that step, I'd love to be part of your journey.

About
Hi, I'm Ani — a board-certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner based in Sacramento, CA.

My path into psychiatry wasn't accidental. Starting out as a registered nurse, I worked alongside people navigating some of their hardest moments — eating disorders, substance use, and severe mental health crises. Those experiences shaped not just my clinical skills, but my understanding of what people actually need when they're struggling: to feel seen, not just assessed. That calling led me to pursue my Master's in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing, and over the years I've built a practice grounded in treating the full picture — acute and chronic mental illness across all ages, with a particular focus on trauma and its many ripple effects. I hold a BSN from New York University and an MSN-PMHNP from Eastern Kentucky University, and I've had the privilege of sharing what I've learned as a guest lecturer at UC Davis and UCSF Schools of Nursing.

Staying current isn't just a professional obligation for me — it's personal. I invest heavily in learning and staying up to date on the most recent treatment options across all psychiatric conditions, because I've seen what's possible when people have the right tools and the right support. My goal, in every session, is to help you move forward.

When I'm not working, you'll find me on the American River Trail, buried in a good book, or — full transparency — deep into a crime documentary binge. Some habits are hard to shake.
