Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)

Depression

Depression is more than sadness—it’s a serious medical condition that affects your mood, energy, sleep, and overall quality of life.

Common Symptoms:

  • Changes in appetite or weight

  • Sleep disturbances (insomnia or oversleeping)

Anxiety Disorders

While some anxiety is normal, persistent and excessive anxiety can interfere with daily life. This includes generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), social anxiety, and specific phobias.

  • Rapid heartbeat and breathing

  • Sweating, trembling, or muscle tension

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

Common Symptoms:

  • Fear of germs or contamination

  • Repeated checking or counting rituals

  • Need for symmetry or order

  • Disturbing or intrusive thoughts

Insomnia

Insomnia is the inability to fall or stay asleep, even when conditions are right for sleep. Chronic insomnia can affect concentration, mood, and daytime functioning.

Common Symptoms:

  • Difficulty falling asleep

  • Frequent nighttime awakenings

  • Waking up too early

  • Feeling unrefreshed after sleep

Panic Disorder

Panic disorder is characterized by sudden, repeated panic attacks—intense episodes of fear with physical symptoms that occur without a clear cause.

Common Symptoms:

  • Rapid heart rate or chest pain

  • Shortness of breath or choking sensation

  • Sweating, shaking, or dizziness

  • Intense feelings of fear or impending doom

Bipolar Disorder

Bipolar disorder involves dramatic shifts in mood, energy, and activity levels, ranging from depressive episodes to periods of mania or hypomania.

Manic/Hypomanic Symptoms:

  • Elevated or irritable mood

  • Increased activity and energy

  • Racing thoughts or rapid speech

  • Risky or impulsive behaviors

  • Decreased need for sleep

Depressive Symptoms:

  • Low mood or feelings of hopelessness

  • Loss of interest in daily activities

  • Fatigue and lack of motivation

  • Sleep and appetite changes

  • Suicidal thoughts or ideation
